The Cavendish School

Headteacher's Welcome

Welcome to our wonderful school. Please do come and visit us so you can experience for yourself what makes us so special. In the meantime, I hope this website will provide a flavour and answer some of your questions as you decide on the best education for your child.

Ours is a small, inclusive independent school in Camden for girls aged 3 to 11. We are not academically selective, yet we achieve remarkably high academic results. At 11+ pupils go on to a wide range of excellent senior schools, often with music or academic scholarships.

We pride ourselves on our high level of pastoral care, which ensures that the emotional, social, physical and creative needs of each individual child are met. Happy children are happy learners. Visitors to our school often comment on the evident delight and visible engagement of our pupils during their lessons and at play.

Our teachers are of the highest standard and teach a broad, balanced curriculum enriched with arts, languages and sport.

Originally a Catholic foundation, we now welcome pupils of all faiths and none.

This is an exciting time to be at The Cavendish School. The hard work of our staff was recognised in our latest Independent Schools Inspection when we were judged to be ‘excellent’ in every category. We’ve recently expanded into a new building, which has provided six more classrooms and a 200-seater multi-use auditorium.

I urge any parent seeking a high-quality education for their daughter to pay us a visit to witness our marvellous school first-hand, and I look forward to meeting you in person.
