Magnificent Magnolia

We are so lucky to have lots of lovely outdoor space to run around and play. And so green. A recent post showed our new green roof with scarlet poppies in flower. And in a corner near the dining hall stands a huge old magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora, an evergreen) with the most magnificent, enormous blooms, as the photo taken from an upstairs window shows.  This tree was planted on 1st September 1970, when the school moved to its present site almost 50 years ago.
