11+ and Leavers' Destinations
"I cannot imagine how the school could have done a better job of preparing the way for the girls."
Most of our pupils have been with us since Nursery or Reception and we know them very well. Staff and parents discuss pupil progress regularly throughout the school and, working closely together with parents, choose a selection of excellent schools for each pupil, suitable for each individual's character, strengths and needs. We are fortunate to have a great number of outstanding independent and state schools nearby, and have good relationships with these, as well as with a range of boarding schools.
We are able to prepare pupils for the varied demands of 11+ assessments for schools where we believe they will thrive. At the end of Year 6, our girls successfully progress to places at highly sought after secondary schools, many with scholarships and awards. However, The Cavendish School is not a hot-house, and our Headteacher believes that 'a wide ranging education and a gentler culture need not be sacrificed in order to achieve academic excellence.'
"The process has been so much less stressful than I had feared."
