Cavendish is an Independent Catholic Girls School based in London for pupils of all faiths, founded by a Catholic Order we continue the strong Christian ethos and so are non selective and teach a broad and diverse curriculum. We take girls from aged two and also accept sibling boys up to age seven.

Cavendish was established in 1875 as part of the original foundation of the Society of The Holy Child Jesus as an independent preparatory and pre-preparatory day school for girls between the ages of three and eleven years. The schools original site situated in Cavendish Square in Camden, London has now changed to a modernised Victorian building which is very spacious and has secluded outdoor play areas.

As you might have guessed we are a Catholic, Christian school; we provide a very high level of education incorporating a healthy promotion of the practice of Christian principles. We are not selective and accept children from all faiths and beliefs.

We pride ourselves on a broad, purposeful, balanced and stimulating curriculum and the community spirit of the school which allows your children to develop in all areas academically and spiritually. As Cavendish is an independent offering private education for girls we have created a community surrounding the school in which we encourage the parents to take an active role. We feel that this creates more of a family orientated environment which in turn helps the pupils bond more easily. With everyone pulling in the same direction learning not only becomes easier but is much more enjoyable.

Our parents' organisation is the FOC (The Friends of Cavendish) and is open to all parents of pupils attending our school who feel that they would like to get involved and, have something to offer the school. Members of the FOC help to organise parties at Christmas, barbeque during the summer months and co ordinate numerous charity events around the year. As we are an independent school we are the sole body that decides how and what we arrange for our pupils, the beauty of this is that we are not tied to any sort of extra curricular activity modus operandi, so anything you have to suggest we can take on board and review for consideration.

Cavendish School is an independent school for girls who provide high quality education through the promotion and development of Catholic, Christian principles through out the life of the school. We are an IAPS (Independent Association of Prep Schools) school which means that we are recognised as one of the top six hundred independent prep schools in the United Kingdom.

In 1892 a group of head teachers from various preparatory school met to discuss what type of cricket ball was to be used in inter school matches and so IAPS was born. Today the organisation is for the heads and deputy head masters of independent prep and junior schools offering excellent member benefits and support in all aspects of schooling. Accreditation as an IAPS prep school provides an additional mark of quality.
